Claire Tilley, BFA Dance Performance, is a senior from Buffalo, New York. She is a third-year member in the Kent Dance Ensemble and has had the privilege of performing twice at Playhouse Square in the Cleveland Dance Showcase, and in June 2018, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. as part of the national concert for the American College Dance Association. Claire has studied abroad in Bangkok, Thailand as a founding member of the “East Meets West” program as well as participated in the OpenFLR International Summer Choreographic Intensive for three weeks in Florence, Italy. Claire is serving her second term as President of the Student Dance Education Organization and is a recipient of The School of Theatre and Dance/Dance Scholarship and various other Kent State University awards. Additionally, she has been on the Dean’s list every semester. Throughout Claire’s tenure at Kent State, she has been chosen to perform in multiple guest artist works as well as in faculty and student choreographed concerts. Upon graduation, Claire plans to move to New York City and pursue a professional career in dance.
