Committing to a college is a big deal. Since we want you to be sure the Fashion School at Kent State University is right for you, we encourage you to plan a visit to campus. The Fashion School at Kent State University welcomes future students to participate in the following events:
FASHION SCHOOL PROSPECTIVE DAYS
Hosted by the Fashion School, the Fashion Prospective Day offers attendees a group informational session presented by the Fashion School academic advisors, a self-guided tour of the building and facilities, and an opportunity to visit the Fashion Library, the Fashion School Store and KSU Museum. The events are focused toward high school juniors, seniors and college transfer students interested in either the fashion design or fashion merchandising major. Fashion Prospective Day attendees will check in at the Rockwell Hall (Fashion School) lobby and proceed to the session in the Rockwell Hall Auditorium.

BEHIND THE SCENES
The Fashion School presents this event for prospective and incoming students every spring semester around our Annual Fashion Show. A day-long visit, Behind the Scenes Preview allows students to meet faculty, academic advisors and current students; tour Rockwell Hall; explore the KSU Museum; and visit the Fashion School Store in downtown Kent. Students and their families are able to attend multiple panel discussions throughout the day focused on curriculum, internships and study-away experiences. Attendees also get an exclusive “behind the scenes” preview of our Annual Fashion Show. The registration fee for this event includes admission to the show and dinner.

SCHOOL OF ART
The School of Art Tour Day includes a presentation about the majors in the School of Art (Studio Art, Art History and Art Education) as well as information about study abroad opportunities, faculty mentoring and professional academic advising, scholarships and more. Prospective students and their families will have the opportunity to meet the director of the School of Art, the professional academic advisor and current art students for a question-and-answer session. The guided walking tour of the new Center for the Visual Arts is about 45 minutes and will offer prospective students and their families an opportunity to see the new studio facilities, classroom spaces and other student meeting and work areas.
All those who have registered should meet in room 241 of the Center for the Visual Arts a few minutes early.

Discover Theatre Days
The School of Theatre and Dance Discover Theatre Days provide a comprehensive overview of the School of Theatre and Dance in the Center for the Performing Arts. Attendees will participate in classes and sessions on theatre performance and production including musical theatre, acting, and design and technology. Please pack a lunch or bring money for Prentice Café, an eatery on campus. Parking passes will be provided for Parking Lot C on the south side of the Center for the Performing Arts.

Design Tech Day
Join the School of Theatre and Dance for Design Tech Visit Day on Saturday, Feb. 23. We will begin with a meet and greet of the Design Technology and Production faculty and staff, provide a tour of the production spaces including the costume design shop, acting studios, dressing rooms, lighting lab, the props and crafts lab, along with performance spaces such as Turner Stump Theatre, Wright-Curtis Theatre, and Erdmann-Zucchero Blackbox Theatre. The visit ends with a performance of the Mystery of Edwin Drood at 7:30 p.m. in Turner Stump Theatre.
This visit focuses specially on the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Design, Technology and Production, including degree concentrations such as Costume Design and Technology, Lighting Design, Scenic Design and Theatre Technology.
Prospective students must register to attend the Design Tech Visit Day event and then also reserve their tickets to the Mystery of Edwin Drood if they wish to attend. To set aside their two free tickets to the show, please call the Performing Arts Box Office (PABO) at 330-672-ARTS (2787) to reserve their seats by February 18.
School of Music
Music Open House (Fall semester only)

The School of Music Open House is a visitation program for high school students, transfer students, parents and teachers. Offering two tracks, prospective students and parents can enjoy performances, observe classes and rehearsals, meet our faculty, and interact with current students. Parents will also have an opportunity to find out more about the audition process, financial aid, housing, the first-year experience and more!
Auditions for the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music 2019-2020 academic year will be held on site during the Open House. Please indicate on registration form if you plan to audition.
Fab Friday Series
The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music sponsors an on-site music clinic for area youth music groups, the Fab Friday series, in cooperation with the Division of Bands and the Department of Music Education at Kent State. Fab Friday programs offer the opportunity for young students to bring instrumental music groups to the School of Music to work with the conducting staff, applied faculty, graduate assistants and music students.

Register for a Music Sample Lesson Day
Music Sample Lesson Day is a comprehensive program for prospective high school junior, senior and college transfer students interested in being music majors or minors. This program offers attendees the opportunity to take a sample lesson on your main instrument and observe related ensemble rehearsals. Attendees will also receive advising from music school academic advisors, attend music classes with current music majors, meet music faculty, and tour the School of Music. Special Group Visits
Schools or community groups with prospective college students may coordinate a visit in the School of Art, School of Music, or School of Theatre & Dance. Visits can be scheduled on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, morning or afternoon. Please fill out the form at the link below to provide some preliminary information prior to the visit date. Our staff will contact you to begin setting up the visit. We are currently taking visit requests for the Fall 2018 semester.
